Bhubaneswar, May 3 -- In a shocking incident, a 36-year-old woman was critically injured after allegedly being attacked by her husband with an axe at Khairaputi village under Gangapur police station limits in Odisha's Ganjam district on Saturday night.

The injured woman has been identified as Rashmita Bisoyi. According to reports, the incident occurred following a dispute over money. Locals said her husband, Sanjay Bisoyi, had allegedly demanded Rs 10,000 from her. When she objected, he reportedly attacked her with an axe, leaving her severely injured.

The victim was initially rushed to Aska hospital and later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur due to her critical condition.
