Bhubaneswar, May 22 -- In an unusual and alarming incident, a young man narrowly escaped a major mishap after a mobile phone reportedly exploded inside his trouser pocket in Padampur town of Odisha's Bargarh district on Friday.

According to reports, the youth is employed at a local mobile phone shop. The incident took place while he was returning home after completing his work for the day. Suddenly, the mobile phone kept in his trouser pocket is said to have overheated and exploded while he was walking along the road, triggering panic in the area.
