A minor girl was allegedly raped in Malkangiri district, prompting police to launch an investigation after a formal complaint filed by the survivor's family.
As per the complaint, the girl, a resident under Malkangiri Sadar police limits, had gone out on Sunday evening to attend a friend's birthday celebration. However, she did not return home till late at night. Despite frantic efforts by her family to locate her, there was no trace of the girl.
Later that night, some locals spotted the girl along with a truck driver in a suspicious condition near Bija Ghat on the Malkangiri-Jeypore highway and immediately informed the police....
