Mercury soars past 40 degrees in Odisha; Jharsuguda highest at 44.4degC, Bhubaneswar at 41degC degrees
Bhubaneswar, April 22 -- Odisha is currently grappling with a severe heatwave, with temperatures soaring across the state. The capital city of Bhubaneswar recorded a high of 41degC by 2:30 PM on Wednesday, causing discomfort for residents and raising concerns about the health risks associated with the extreme heat.
As the heatwave continues, several other districts in the state are also facing unusually high temperatures, with some cities surpassing the 40degC mark.
Meanwhile, Jharsuguda has emerged as the hottest city in the state, reaching an alarming 44.4degC. Other cities such as Sambalpur and Hirakud recorded 43.2degC and 43degC, respectively, while Rourkela and Bhubaneswar both registered 41degC. The oppressive heat is makin...
