Bhubaneswar, May 10 -- A government standing committee recommended a comprehensive tourism development project valued at approximately Rs 100 crore for the historic Khandagiri and Udayagiri twin hills near Bhubaneswar.
As reported by the Times Of India, reviewing the 2026-27 budget, the panel urged the Tourism Department to treat this as a major project to transform the site, closely associated with Emperor Kharavela, into a complete tourist pride for Odisha.
To facilitate seamless visitor movement, the committee suggested widening the road from the local Sulabh Sauchalaya toward the Jagannath temple at Kolathia.
