Bhubaneswar, April 7 -- A six-year-old boy was allegedly administered a wrong vaccine at an immunisation centre on last Wednesday at Balidia village under Kujanga block in Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha.

According to sources, the mother of the child took him to the local vaccination centre for routine immunization on April 1. However, an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), allegedly, distracted while conversing with others, administered the wrong vaccine to the child.

Following the incident, tensions flared between the ANM and the child's mother, leading to a heated argument at the centre. Concerned about potential health complications, doctors advised that the child be kept under observation for seven days.
