Bhubaneswar, June 22 -- In a significant development, security forces on Monday recovered a maoist arms dump from the dense forests of Baipariguda in Odisha's Koraput district, dealing another blow to left-wing extremist activities in the region. The operation was carried out based on intelligence provided by a surrendered maoist, who led authorities to a hidden cache at Badali Hill.

Acting on the information, a joint team comprising personnel from the District Voluntary Force (DVF), Special Operations Group (SOG) and Koraput Police launched a search operation in the forested area. During the operation, security personnel discovered a concealed Maoist dump containing weapons and explosive materials.
