Bhubaneswar, June 21 -- A man died by suicide inside an abandoned building situated near the Kuliana police station in Odisha's Mayurbhanj on Saturday. The incident happened following allegations of prolonged police negligence regarding his stolen vehicle.

The deceased has been identified as Deepak Kumar Barik of Kamata village. His body was recovered from the building, and he was found hanging with a towel tied around his neck.

He took this drastic step as a last resort due to the ongoing ordeal.

As per reports, Barik had taken a Bolero vehicle on lease. However, his vehicle was reportedly stolen. Following the theft a month ago, he lodged a formal complaint at the Kuliana police station.
