Major theft in Ganjam: Cash, gold worth lakhs stolen from teacher's house
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 11 -- A retired teacher's house in Digapahandi of Odisha's Ganjam district was allegedly burgled on Monday evening after thieves broke open an almirah and escaped with Rs 8 lakh in cash and around 30 tola of gold and silver ornaments. The theft took place when no one was present at the house.
The house belongs to retired teacher Bhaskar Sahu and is located on Rajpur Road. According to the complaint, the thieves entered the house in the evening and targeted the almirah. They allegedly broke it open and took away the cash and jewellery kept inside.
