Bhubaneswar, April 7 -- The Rourkela district administration on Tuesday busted a major gas black market operation, leading to the seizure of 160 cylinders from a local garage in the Steel City.

A joint team of the Rourkela Municipal Corporation, police, and the Rourkela Tehsildar office raided the garage in the Sector-9 area and seized the cylinders.

However, the garage owner reportedly fled the scene before the authorities could apprehend him.

Upon arrival at the garage, authorities discovered a large stockpile of gas cylinders. The cylinders included both domestic and commercial types. The raid was part of an ongoing effort by local authorities to curb illegal gas trading in the region, informed officials.
