Bhubaneswar, Aug. 31 -- The donation boxes of Maa Majhighariani Temple in Odisha's Rayagada were opened for counting on Monday. The counting is being conducted under the supervision of the Tehsildar and in the presence of members of the temple management committee.

Around 250 women are participating in the counting process. Approximately nine donation boxes have been opened. The exercise is expected to be completed by around 7 pm, said an official.

Radhakrushna Dalei, Member of Maa Majhighariani Temple Trust said that the previous counting was conducted on June 29, 2026 and continued for nearly 12 hours. He further stated that over Rs 1.26 crore was collected from the donation boxes at that time.
