Bhubaneswar, April 4 -- An LPG tanker carrying over 46,000 metric tonnes of fuel is transited the strategic Strait of Hormuz on Saturday morning and is expected to reach Mumbai by April 6, even as several Indian-linked vessels remain in the Gulf region awaiting clearance.
According to the Directorate General of Shipping, the LPG carrier Green Sanvi has already crossed the Strait of Hormuz and is now moving ahead, carrying around 46,655 metric tonnes of LPG, shipping ministry officials said.
The development follows the recent successful transit of two LPG carriers through the vital waterway. Last week, Jag Vasant delivered 47,612 metric tonnes of LPG at Kandla, while Pine Gas unloaded 45,000 metric tonnes at New Mangalore port.
