Bhubaneswar, Sept. 20 -- A woman was found hanging inside a locked house in Nilagiri in Odisha's Balasore on Sunday, with police detaining her husband in connection with the incident.

The deceased, identified as Subhalaxmi Pradhan of Jadra village under Kaptipada police station was married to Pankaj Samal of Oldang village. Her family alleged that she faced dowry-related harassment and claimed that she was kept without food for four days.

According to reports, disputes began in the family a few years after Subhalaxmi's marriage. Her family alleged that she continued to face harassment over dowry.
