Bhubaneswar, March 26 -- Two persons were rescued after a fire broke out in a lift at an apartment complex in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, with the blaze suspected to have been caused by a short circuit.

The incident occurred at Badshah Apartment in Shree Vihar under Chandrasekharpur Police Station limits. Fire services personnel brought the situation under control and ensured the safe evacuation of those trapped.

According to reports, the fire originated in the lift, leading to heavy smoke accumulation inside the elevator. As a result, two persons became trapped when the lift stopped functioning.

The incident caused panic among residents of the apartment complex, as the individuals remained stuck inside the lift amid dense smoke.
