Bhubaneswar, Jan. 3 -- In a major crackdown on drug trafficking in the state capital, the Khordha district Excise officials busted a brown sugar racket operating in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

As many as three persons, including a law student, who was allegedly the kingpin of the operation, were arrested in connection with the incident.

According to official sources, the Excise officials seized 265 grams of brown sugar from the Biju Patnaik International Airport area in Bhubaneswar during a special operation. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth around Rs 27 lakh.
