Bhubaneswar, May 11 -- Congress on Monday staged a protest in Bhubaneswar alleging deterioration in the law and order situation in Odisha. Party workers gheraoed the Commissionerate Police office and hurled tomatoes at police personnel during the demonstration.
According to reports, the protest was conducted under the supervision of PCC president Bhakta Das.
Senior police officials were present at the spot while security arrangements were tightened in and around the Commissionerate Police office during the protest.
During the agitation, Congress leaders criticised the state government over the recent murder of a GRP constable in Balianta and alleged rising criminal activities in Bhubaneswar and other parts of the state.
