Bhubaneswar, Sept. 20 -- Jeypore city in Odisha's Koraput plunged into darkness after heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms disrupted power supply on Saturday afternoon.

According to reports, the outage continued for more than four hours at night, severely affecting normal life across the city.

A preliminary investigation found that the disruption was caused by two 33 KV substations in the city remaining down.

TPSODL officials and employees spent several hours identifying the electrical fault before working towards restoring the power supply.

The prolonged power disruption left residents facing difficulties as electricity services remained unavailable for over four consecutive hours.
