Bhubaneswar, Dec. 19 -- In the latest development to the ongoing row over the murder of a Class IX student at the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) in Bhubaneswar, a petition has been filed before the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC).
Sources reported that on Friday, a petition seeking an independent inquiry into the incident, action against responsible officials and compensation of Rs 1 crore for the deceased student's family was filed with the OHRC.
According to the petition, the complainant has prayed the OHRC to conduct a free and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the student's death, citing serious allegations of negligence and suppression of facts.
