Bhubaneswar, May 3 -- Kalbaisakhi storms caused widespread damage in several parts of Odisha, affecting houses, infrastructure, and public spaces on Saturday. In many areas, strong winds uprooted trees and electric poles, disrupting normal life.
Significant damage was reported from Chandapur village under Mahulia panchayat of Chandbali block in Bhadrak district. A large coconut tree was uprooted due to strong winds and fell on the houses of Anjan Behera and Bharati Muduli, damaging the structures. The boundary wall in front of the house was also completely destroyed. However, no casualties were reported.
The storm also affected the Pallahara area, where several large trees were uprooted and blocked roads during Friday afternoon's storm....
