Bhubaneswar, June 1 -- An illegal intoxicating injection racket operating in Jeypore town of Koraput district in Odisha was busted by police on Sunday. This led to the arrest of five persons and the seizure of hundreds of suspected narcotic injections, cash and other materials.

The operation was carried out following a tip-off, with police intercepting a vehicle and uncovering the alleged illegal trade. The accused were booked under provisions of the NDPS Act and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

Police seized 750 samples contained in 15 packets during the operation. They also recovered Rs 15,000 in cash, five mobile phones and one car.
