Bhubaneswar, Sept. 4 -- Biryani has become a popular and affordable food choice across Odisha, with the dish widely available at food joints in the state including in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. However, concerns have now been raised over the use of food colours and oil in its preparation, amid ongoing food safety inspections across the state.

The inspections, which have focused on identifying adulterated and duplicate paneer, chhena, milk and other food items, have also turned attention towards biryani and other fast foods. Questions have been raised over the safety of ingredients used by some eateries and restaurants.
