Bhubaneswar, March 21 -- The Centre is gearing up for a major overhaul of railway station management, with Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw reviewing key reforms focused on security, crowd control, and passenger convenience. The first phase of these changes will be implemented at New Delhi Railway Station, before being expanded nationwide.
As part of the upgrade, the Railways will deploy an extensive AI-enabled camera network to monitor station premises round the clock. The system will cover platforms, entry and exit points, and other sensitive areas.
