Bhubaneswar, June 2 -- Indian Railways maintained its growth momentum in May 2026, loading 145 million tonnes of freight, a 1.3 per cent increase over the same period last year, despite headwinds from the ongoing geopolitical situation in West Asia affecting logistics and supply chains. Strong performance in Iron Ore, Steel, Fertilisers, and Balance Other Goods segments underpinned this growth, highlighting the resilience and efficiency of the national transporter.
