Bhubaneswar, March 30 -- In a major move aimed at strengthening national security, the Government of India is set to enforce stricter regulations on internet-connected CCTV cameras from April 1, a step that is expected to impact several Chinese manufacturers operating in the country significantly.
Under the new framework, all CCTV cameras, especially those connected to the internet, will be required to obtain certification from the Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) before they can be sold in the Indian market. The certification ensures that devices meet stringent security and data protection standards.
