Bhubaneswar, June 23 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued rain, thunderstorms and lightning warning for several districts in Odisha. The weather office also advised residents to stay alert as unsettled weather conditions are expected to affect many parts of the state throughout the day.

According to the IMD, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Koraput districts are likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds reaching 40 to 50 kmph at one or two places. Heavy rainfall is also likely in some areas of these districts.
