Bhubaneswar, April 16 -- The sweltering heat continues to grip Odisha, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning of a further rise in day temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next two days.

The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued a heatwave warning for several districts in western and interior parts of the state. The districts under alert include Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Sonepur, and Sambalpur.

In addition to the heatwave conditions, coastal districts are expected to experience intense humidity and discomfort over the next seven days, making weather conditions increasingly oppressive.
