Bhubaneswar, April 2 -- The Indian Institute of TechnologyBombay has developed an indigenous technology to address rising prices and potential shortages of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by converting dry leaves into a viable cooking fuel. The innovation is based on a patented biomass gasification process.

The technology is the result of nearly a decade of research that began in 2014 under Professor Sanjay Mahajani from the Department of Chemical Engineering. The initiative focuses on harnessing energy from biomass waste generated within the campus.
