IAF AN-32 crashes in Assam, five personnel killed at Jorhat Air Base
Bhubaneswar, June 13 -- Five Indian Air Force personnel lost their lives after an AN-32 transport aircraft crashed at Roureah Air Force Station in Jorhat, Assam, on Saturday, IAF officials confirmed.
The aircraft crashed within the premises of the strategically important air base while reportedly flying from Arunachal Pradesh to Jorhat. The co-pilot survived the accident and is currently undergoing treatment.
Following the crash, the Indian Air Force ordered a Court of Inquiry to determine the cause of the accident. Emergency response teams were immediately deployed at the site after the aircraft met with an accident during landing.
