A harrowing scene unfolded on the Nagpur-Jabalpur National Highway when 35-year-old Gyarshi Yadav was killed in a hit-and-run, forcing her injured husband to transport her body 80 kilometres on a motorcycle in pouring rain after repeated pleas for help went unanswered.

The tragedy occurred near Deolapar, Maharashtra, when a speeding truck grazed the couple's bike. Gyarshi, riding pillion, fell onto the road and was run over by the same truck, which fled the spot.
