Bhubaneswar, July 6 -- Heavy rainfall disrupted traffic on the Bolangir-Kantabanji State Highway (SH-42) in Odisha, after a massive roadside tree was uprooted and collapsed across the road near Gangasagar on Monday, bringing vehicular movement to a complete halt.

The fallen tree blocked the busy highway, leaving vehicles stranded on both sides of the road for some time. Fortunately, no casualties or damage to any vehicle were reported.

According to officials, the tree was uprooted due to continuous rainfall in the region and fell across the carriageway, completely obstructing traffic. Commuters travelling between Bolangir and Kantabanji were forced to wait until the road was cleared.
