Heavy rain likely across Odisha for next two days; IMD puts all 30 districts on alert
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 5 -- Rainfall activity is expected to intensify across Odisha over the next two days, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue weather alerts for all 30 districts of the state.
According to IMD reports, the weather dept placed Mayurbhanj under an Orange alert, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall. The remaining 29 districts have been placed under a yellow warning, indicating the likelihood of thunderstorms, lightning and moderate to heavy rain at isolated places.
According to the forecast, very heavy rainfall is also likely in Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Koraput and Malkangiri districts.
