Bhubaneswar, July 6 -- Incessant rainfall since Saturday has severely affected normal life in Sambalpur, with several parts of the city remaining submerged under rainwater.

Waterlogging was reported from multiple localities following continuous rainfall throughout the day and night.

Rainwater entered several houses, leaving many families stranded in waterlogged conditions. The situation was aggravated as rainwater failed to drain from several parts of the city.

According to reports, many drains in the city became silted up, blocked and narrowed, preventing the smooth discharge of rainwater. As a result, water stagnated in several residential areas.
