Bhubaneswar, June 2 -- The summer heat continues to grip Odisha, with intense daytime temperatures being felt across many parts of the state. While scorching conditions prevail during the day, several regions are also witnessing Nor'wester activity during the afternoon and evening hours.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave alert for several districts in western Odisha on Tuesday. Districts placed under heatwave warning include Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Kalahandi and Nuapada. Residents in these areas have been advised to take necessary precautions against prolonged exposure to high temperatures.
