Bhubaneswar, April 3 -- Unbearable heatwave conditions continue to grip Odisha, with temperatures soaring across large parts of the state, particularly in the western region. Several districts have recorded temperatures above 40degC, indicating a sharp rise in heat intensity.

Jharsuguda emerged as the hottest place in the state, recording a maximum temperature of 40.6degC. Titlagarh also touched 40degC, while Hirakud and Sonepur registered 39.2degC each. 

Angul recorded 39.1degC, and Bhadrak and Bolangir reported temperatures of 39degC. In most other cities, the mercury remained above 38degC, reflecting widespread heatwave conditions.
