Bhubaneswar, Aug. 28 -- The Orissa High Court has directed the Odisha government to constitute a panel of competent and experienced lawyers to handle arbitration cases involving the state and its instrumentalities and fix accountability for losses caused by negligence.

Justice SK Panigrahi issued the directions while hearing a petition filed by a private environmental engineering company seeking to vacate a stay order passed by the District Judge-cum-Commercial Appellate Court, Khordha, in a commercial dispute with the state government. The company also sought release of Rs 1.5 crore deposited in its favour and early disposal of the appeal.
