Gold idol fraud turns deadly in Puri: Man burnt alive over money dispute, 3 arrested
India, Aug. 24 -- A greed for a supposed gold idol and ornaments allegedly led to a brutal murder in Odisha's Puri district's Kanas area, with police arresting three persons in connection with the killing of Parshuram Pradhan.
According to police, Parshuram was murdered on August 11 at Mandarabasta village under Kanas police limits. The investigation has revealed that the accused allegedly tied his hands and legs to a cot, poured kerosene on him and set him on fire.
The arrested persons have been identified as Rajkishore Sahu and Suresh Sahu of Tapang in Khordha district and Satyabrata Mallik of Kendrapara.
