A tragic train accident in Jajpur district's Sukinda division claimed the life of a young girl and left her mother and younger sister critically injured late Saturday night.
The incident occurred near Botalanda, when a woman and her two daughters were struck by a train while crossing the tracks. The elder daughter, identified as Sushree Behera, daughter of Sharan Behera of Mulakhamba village, died on the spot.
The girl's mother, Kuni Behera, and her younger daughter were rescued by locals with the help of Sukinda police and immediately shifted to Sukinda Medical, where their condition is reported to be critical.
