Bhubaneswar, Aug. 4 -- A 10-foot-long python was rescued from the premises of Sriram Mahavidyalaya at Rampur under Dunguripali block in Odisha's Sonepur district on Tuesday after it was spotted beneath the staircase of the college building. The reptile was safely rescued by the Forest Department.

A college staff member first noticed the snake and immediately alerted the Binika Forest Range. As news of the python spread, students and staff gathered at the spot, waiting for the rescue team.

Acting on the information, Forest Department personnel reached the college and launched a rescue operation. The python was carefully brought out from beneath the staircase and safely captured without causing any harm to the reptile.
