Bhubaneswar, Oct. 31 -- A gas cylinder theft racket operating across Bhubaneswar was busted by Tamando police on Friday. Four persons including alleged mastermind Tushar Ranjan Barik, were arrested in connection with the case. Police seized more than 70 stolen LPG cylinders from the accused.

The gang allegedly targeted houses and stole both domestic and commercial gas cylinders.They also reportedly sold them at different locations. Complaints of cylinder theft was lodged at Khandagiri, Chandaka, Bharatpur and Tamando police stations, following which police launched an investigation.

According to police, CCTV footage played a key role in identifying the accused. The gang allegedly carried out thefts at night using two to three vehicles. ...
