Bhubaneswar, Oct. 2 -- Gandhi Jayanti is being observed across Odisha on Friday with various programmes organised to mark the 157th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Tributes are being paid to the Father of the Nation at different places across the state. Government institutions, organisations and local communities are remembering his contribution to India's freedom struggle.

In Sambalpur, Gandhi Jayanti is being observed at the Gandhi Temple in Bhatra, where the district administration and various organisations have offered floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. The temple premises are also hosting several cultural programmes as part of the celebrations.
