Bhubaneswar, March 28 -- A full emergency was declared at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday after a Delhi-bound IndiGo flight from Visakhapatnam made an emergency landing following an engine failure.

According to airport officials, the emergency was declared at 10:39 am for flight 6E 579, a Boeing 737, after the crew reported a technical issue shortly before arrival. The aircraft landed safely at 10:54 am under priority conditions.

There were around 161 passengers on board, all of whom were reported safe. Airline staff and the Delhi International Airport operations team assisted passengers after landing, ensuring necessary support and safety protocols were followed.
