Bhubaneswar, July 10 -- Rainfall activity in Odisha is likely to pick up again ahead of Rath Yatra, with weather models indicating the possibility of a fresh low-pressure area forming over the Bay of Bengal. According to weather experts, a cyclonic circulation may develop over the Bay around July 14 or 15, which could subsequently intensify into a low-pressure area.

The proposed system is likely to form over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha-West Bengal coast, where atmospheric conditions are currently favourable for its development. If the system takes shape, rainfall across the state is expected to increase from July 13, with several districts likely to witness moderate to heavy showers.
