Bhubaneswar, Aug. 14 -- The flood situation in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district worsened following heavy rainfall as floodwaters entered low-lying areas of Baripada town.

Residents in riverside areas of Wards 7 and 8 remained particularly concerned as the water level continued to rise.

The administration continued efforts to shift people from vulnerable low-lying areas to safer locations. Administrative teams closely monitored the affected areas and urged residents to remain alert.

In Rasagobindpur block, around four feet of water was seen flowing over the bridge at Sarumula in San Nai. Vehicular movement was disrupted due to the rising water level. Water was also flowing across the Baripada-Amarda road.
