Flood fury in Odisha's Athagarh: Sapua river floods low-lying areas, old Cuttack-Sambalpur road submerged
Bhubaneswar, July 17 -- Normal life was severely disrupted in Athagarh of Odisha's Cuttack district after the Sapua River overflowed, inundating several low-lying areas and affecting road connectivity.
According to reports, the old Cuttack-Sambalpur road completely submerged, bringing vehicular movement to a complete halt.
The situation deteriorated as nearly four feet of floodwater submerged the road near the bridge at Naduapada.
The submerged route left commuters stranded and disrupted normal movement across the region.
Gudupada village, located along the banks of the Sapua River, has also been cut off from the outside world due to the rising floodwaters.
