Bhubaneswar, Sept. 24 -- A flood-like situation has emerged in parts of Odisha as incessant rainfall triggered by a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal continues to affect several districts. Heavy to very heavy rain led to waterlogging in low-lying areas, while the possibility of flooding has raised concerns in vulnerable locations.

The impact has been particularly significant in southern and coastal Odisha, where rainfall has intensified. Water levels in the Mahanadi and other major rivers of the state are likely to rise. This has raised concerns over possible flooding in the coming days.
