Bhubaneswar, April 8 -- In yet another alarming incident, a floating bridge vessel (Bhasa Pola) carrying 30 passengers got stuck in Chilika lake for several hours on Wednesday. 

The vessel traveling from Jahnikuda in Puri district towards Satapada, ran into trouble near Mahisakuda due to high water levels caused by the impact of Nor'wester pre-monsoon winds.

The floating bridge vessel, which was carrying two cars, five bikes, and a passenger bus, was trapped when the shifting water channels resulted in rising water levels. The powerful winds altered the course of the water, leaving the boat stranded in the high waters of the lake.
