Bhubaneswar, May 17 -- A major fire broke out at a tyre resoling workshop in Bhubaneswar's Mancheswar area late on Saturday night, reducing two shops to ashes and destroying tyres worth several lakhs of rupees.

The blaze reportedly erupted between 2:45 am and 3 am. The exact cause of the fire was not ascertained at the time of reporting.

After receiving information about the incident, personnel from the Mancheswar fire brigade rushed to the spot and launched firefighting operations.

As the intensity of the blaze increased, seven fire tenders from Kalpana, Bhubaneswar, Pahala and Chandrasekharpur fire stations were deployed to control the fire.
