Fever outbreak in Odisha's Rayagada: 2 children die, 'quack' treatment under scanner
India, Aug. 24 -- A fever outbreak in Jubapadar village under Kashipur block in Odisha's Rayagada raised concern after two children died on Saturday. More than 20 people in the village are reportedly suffering from fever, with the illness continuing to affect residents for over a week.
The deceased have been identified as Pinku Pujari and seven-year-old Shiva Majhi.
Two Children Die After Alleged Quack Treatment
According to reports, both children were suffering from fever and were taken by their family members to a 'quack' doctor named Sharma at Dambaguda under Dasmantpur block for treatment. The villagers alleged that the children died a few hours after receiving injections.
