Bhubaneswar, Feb. 13 -- Farmers staged a protest at the Bhadrak Collector's office on Friday, alleging large-scale irregularities in paddy procurement by millers in the district.
In a dramatic demonstration, several farmers arrived on tractors loaded with paddy and dumped the sacks inside the Collector's office premises.
The protest was organised to draw the administration's attention to their grievances over procurement practices.
The protesting farmers alleged that millers in Odisha's Bhadrak district have either refused to procure paddy or are imposing arbitrary deductions.
