Bhubaneswar, Aug. 6 -- A young woman from Ganjam district has alleged that a man she met on Facebook first befriended her, then turned the relationship into a cycle of rape and blackmail. The victim, who was studying in Bhubaneswar, lodged a written complaint at Maitri Vihar police station, triggering an investigation that led to the arrest of the accused.

According to police sources, the victim came into contact with the accused, identified as Harekrushna Mohanty, on the social media platform. Over time, their online friendship developed into a romantic relationship. Mohanty, a delivery boy by profession, hails from the Tihidi area of Bhadrak district.
